IBM Aptiva E-275 computer with color CRT monitor,
wired mouse, wired keyboard, wired speakers,
software, manuals. Windows 98 OS. Purchased in
1998 or 1999, moderately used; retired and kept
as a back-up in 2002 or 2003, rarely used since
then. Excellent for word processing, data
processing, e-mail, internet, storing photos,
etc. Condition: This computer is in good shape
and ready to go to work. Runs fine with no known
problems except as follows: 1. Doesn't
reliably go into automatic stand-by, and in
manual stand-by the fan still runs. 2. The CD
burner doesn't recognize some newer CDs, so CD
burned on a Vista or XP computer might not be
recognized. The CD-ROM drive does recognize
legacy CDs and CDs burned on this computer. That
doesn't seem to be an issue the other way around.
Perhaps updating the drivers would remedy that.

Windows 98 did not come with preinstalled USB
drivers, so to run USB hardware (jump drives,
camera equipment, etc) your equipment (1) needs to
come with Win 98 USB drivers or (2) you need to
download generic drivers off the internet.
Alternatively, you could (3) upgrade to Windows
ME or Windows 2000. I did install a "jump drive"
driver for a Lexar 1GB JumpDrive. Here's an
